Top Medical and Health Awareness Books for Kids

“The more that you read, the more things you’ll know, the more that you learn, the more places you’ll go!” —Dr. Seuss

Another great quote I found is, “Readers are created in the lap of a parent.” Isn’t that the truth!!

The body and understanding all that it can do is an adventure in of itself. From the smallest elements all the way up to full body systems. Theses books will guide you and your kiddos through that adventure together!

These two books are perfect for the littlest readers/listeners! These were co-written by Cara Florence who has her PhD in biochemistry and her Husband Jon Florance, M.D. graduate from Harvard and orthopedic surgery resident!

  • Bacteria and Antibiotics, pretty much exactly what is says. I like the playful illustrations and explanations that are perfectly age appropriate!

  • My Doctor’s Visit, walks littles through what to expect from a visit to the doctor, (or when the doctor visits you!) Shows equipment used and what they do! What a great bedtime read for the night before a checkup!

This Dr. Seuss book is all about staying healthy!! Not only does it talk about exercise, sleep, hydration and hygiene, it also includes a ton of great recipes to do at home with the kiddos! What a fun way to get excited about taking care of your body!

These last two are great! The Human Body, Knowledge encyclopedia is full of beautiful illustrations and information. This one truly tugs at my medical heart strings! Great fo folder kiddos 8-12 years of age!

The second is an activity book, perfect for ages 5-10. Teaches lessons about different systems in the body and throws in engaging activities along the way.
